Medi2data

From September 2025, our practice will be outsourcing some medical reports to Medi2data, who will process your report on our behalf, using their system eMR.

Medi2data are able to complete most types of factual reports, and in most cases can do so in a much quicker turnaround time than the practice is able to. For example, Medi2data aim to complete a report within 14-28 days; however, during busy periods this can take the practice up to 6-8 weeks.

By contracting Medi2data to undertake this work, it also means that the GPs can spend more time with patients and less time completing reports for insurers and other bodies.

Medi2data is an NHS accredited supplier who have developed a digital system called eMR which enables the production of digital, GDPR-compliant medical reports.
The software interfaces with our GP practice’s system to extract medical records to be included in Medi2data’s reports. eMR empowers patients to easily see and share their medical data, allowing them to stay in control of their records.

Please respond to the text message we will send or complete a form if requested.

When you give consent for your medical reports to be prepared through our secure out-sourced service that consent will stay in place for future reports. If you change your mind, you can opt-out at any time by letting us know. Please see next section.

If you would prefer that we do not outsource your report to Medi2data to complete on our behalf you are able to tell us by replying to the text message and someone from the surgery will contact you to discuss next steps.

However, this will likely mean that the report will take longer to process in-house than using the Medi2data service.
Yes.
You can withdraw your consent to allowing Medi2data to process your data for this purpose, on behalf of the practice at any time. In order to do this you will need to email us at kmicb.cmp@nhs.net with your withdrawal of consent for this purpose.
Please note that your report may already be with Medi2data; if this is the case we will still action your request and contact Medi2data to request they stop processing.
When your report has been requested via a third party, the fastest way to receive an update is to go to the http://medi2data.com website – hover over ‘Instructing Parties’ in the menu at the top, and select MET.
MET is an automatic Medical Evidence Tracker – by entering the third party’s reference code, you can view the progress of your request.

Alternatively, to receive an update on your report from a Medi2data operative, we recommend using the Live Chat service.
The Live Chat is accessible via medi2data.com by selecting the speech bubble in the bottom-right corner of the page.
Choose option 3 – “I’m looking for a status update on a report” – and you will be connected to an operative promptly.
You can also email or call the team via customerservice@medi2data.com and 0333 3055 774 (option 3) to discuss your report or any concerns regarding your personal data.

Please note that all requests to access your medical report via the Medi2data website, will require two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security. This process involves verifying your identity through two separate methods:
Something you know – Your personal credentials, such as an email address
Something you have – A second authentication method, such as a code sent to your registered email or mobile device.
This two-step verification process ensures that only authorised individuals can access sensitive information, providing an extra layer of protection for your privacy and security.
